Cards and instant EFT still lead
Despite the growth of wallets and crypto, South African gambling payments are still built around the banks. Cards are near-universal, and instant EFT services such as Ozow have become the default for players who don’t want to enter card details: you pay from your banking app and the deposit lands in seconds.
Cash and crypto: the bank-free routes
Two very different groups of players avoid cards. Cash vouchers such as OTT Voucher are bought at shops and taxi ranks, so they suit players without a bank account or who want a hard spending limit. Crypto, mainly Bitcoin (BTC) and Tether (USDT), is concentrated at offshore casinos, where it is often the fastest way to be paid out.
Deposits and withdrawals are not the same list. Many methods only work one way, so check how you’ll be paid before you deposit. Our payments hub has a page for every method with the sites that take it.
How we measured it
For every brand we recorded the payment methods it accepts and, where published, whether each can be used to withdraw, from the operator’s cashier and payments pages. A site counts for a method once, whichever currencies it supports. Kinds group the methods (cards, instant EFT, vouchers, crypto, e-wallets, mobile wallets, bank apps, cash). Our payments data covers the brands whose payment pages we have checked, so totals are counted out of those sites.

Frequently asked questions
What is the most common way to deposit at South African betting sites?
Card payments and instant EFT. Visa is accepted almost everywhere in our data, and Ozow is the most widely accepted instant EFT service.

Yes. Cash vouchers like OTT, 1Voucher and Blu Voucher are sold at shops and taken at many sites, and crypto is accepted at most offshore casinos. Some bookmakers also take bank-app payments like Capitec Pay.
