Bonus codes
Most South African casino and betting bonuses need no code at all: they're credited automatically or with a tick-box at deposit. A few RTG casinos still use their own public cashier codes, such as Springbok's SPRINGBOK100 and Jackpot Cash's SIGNUP150. We list only a brand's own codes, never another site's.

How bonus codes work in South Africa
A bonus code (also called a promo code, coupon or voucher code) is a word you type to tell the casino which offer you want. Some casinos need one to attach a bonus to a deposit; others use codes only to track which website sent you.
There are really three kinds of code you’ll come across:
- The brand’s own public code. Published on the casino’s promotions page and open to everyone, like Springbok Casino’s SPRINGBOK100 for its first-deposit match. These are the only codes we list.
- Affiliate tracking codes. Codes that other review sites receive so the operator can credit them for your sign-up. They normally unlock the same standard offer you’d get without them. We don’t publish them.
- Personal codes. Sent by email or SMS to your account, for a reload, a birthday bonus or a VIP offer. Only you can use them.
Most of the big SA-licensed names, including Hollywoodbets, Betway and Supabets, don’t need a code for their sign-up offers. You register, verify and the bonus appears.
Which casinos still use codes
Code-based bonuses survive mainly on casinos running the RTG (RealTime Gaming) platform, where the cashier has a coupon box. In our data:
- Springbok Casino: SPRINGBOK100 for its first deposit, SPRINGBOK50 for the next two, and a no deposit coupon. These are still marked unconfirmed because we couldn’t load Springbok’s own site.
- Jackpot Cash: SIGNUP150 for a 150% sign-up match, WELCOME50 for its R15,000 package, and SWDOUBLE for the daily Instant EFT Double reload.
What a code-based bonus costs
A code doesn’t change the maths; the wagering does.
Worked example
Jackpot Cash’s SIGNUP150 gives 150% at 30x the bonus, with a minimum deposit of R50. Deposit R200 and you get R300 in bonus funds.
- Wagering: R300 × 30 = R9,000 in bets.
- Expected loss at 96% RTP: 4% of R9,000 = R360.
- Expected value: R300 − R360 = about −R60.
On average, you’d lose slightly more clearing it than the bonus is worth, so it suits players who’d bet R9,000 that week anyway and want extra play for it. A code-free offer at 5x would be worth far more. Our wagering calculator runs this for any amount.
How to use a bonus code
- Copy the code exactly from the offer card; codes are often case-sensitive.
- Register and verify your account first.
- Open the cashier and choose your payment method.
- Enter the code in the coupon or promo field before you confirm the deposit.
- Check the bonus balance straight after the deposit clears. If it’s missing, stop and contact support before you play.
- Use each code once and in order: Springbok’s second-deposit code won’t work before the first.
Terms that trip people up
- Code order. Package codes are tied to deposit one, two and three.
- Payment exclusions. Some codes only work with certain methods; SWDOUBLE is tied to Instant EFT.
- Daily codes reset. Reload codes such as SWDOUBLE can be used once a day, not once ever.
- Stacking. You usually can’t run two code bonuses at once; finish or forfeit one before the next.
- Expired codes. A code found on an old forum post is probably dead. We recheck codes each time we update an offer.
- “Hidden coupons”. Searches for hidden or secret coupons are common, but there’s no hidden list; casinos publish their codes or send them to you.

Most South Africans will do better with a code-free offer: compare them on the welcome bonus and no deposit bonus pages. Each brand’s own codes, if it has any, are on its bonus page, for example Springbok Casino bonus codes or Hollywoodbets promo codes.
Codes on SA-licensed bookmakers
When a South African bookmaker does show a promo-code field at registration, it’s usually there for affiliate tracking or for a temporary campaign, such as a sponsorship or a radio promotion. Leaving it empty normally still gets you the standard sign-up offer: Hollywoodbets’ R25 and 50 spins, Supabets’ R50 or 100 spins, and Gbets’ R50 plus 50 spins are all credited after FICA without a code.
If you see a code advertised on the bookmaker’s own site, social channels or TV adverts, it’s a brand code and safe to use. If a code appears only on a review site, it most likely credits that site and unlocks nothing extra for you.
Our rule on codes
We never publish another affiliate’s code, and we never invent one. If a brand’s offer needs a code, we show the brand’s own public code; if it doesn’t, the card says “No code needed”. That keeps the code you use valid, and keeps the terms you see the ones that actually apply.
Codes don’t change the fact that bonuses are a way to get more play, not more money. Set a deposit limit before you use one, and call the NRGP on 0800 006 008 if gambling stops being fun.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a promo code to get a bonus in South Africa?
Usually not. Hollywoodbets, Betway, Supabets, Gbets, YesPlay and most other SA-licensed bookmakers credit their sign-up and welcome offers automatically. Codes are mainly used by RTG-platform casinos such as Springbok and Jackpot Cash.
Are there no deposit bonus codes for existing players in South Africa?
Rarely. Existing players usually get reloads, cashback and free spins through the promotions page or by email, not public codes. Be wary of sites listing 'secret' codes for existing players; most are expired or invented.
Why do other sites show different codes for the same casino?
Affiliate sites often get their own tracking codes, which credit that site. They usually unlock the same offer as signing up without a code. We only show codes the brand publishes itself.
Where do I enter a bonus code?
In the cashier when you deposit (Springbok and Jackpot Cash have a coupon or promo field there) or, at some bookmakers, in a promo-code box on the registration form.
What happens if I forget to enter a code?
On code-based casinos the bonus usually isn't credited. Contact support before you start playing with the deposit; once you've placed bets, most casinos won't add the bonus retrospectively.
