Crash games
Crash games are fast multiplier games: a plane, rocket or jet takes off, a multiplier climbs from 1.00x, and you must cash out before it crashes. Aviator is the best known in South Africa, and Betway and Betxchange give free Aviator flights. Every target multiplier has the same long-run return, so no cash-out strategy beats the house.

How crash games work
Every crash game follows the same four steps. You place a bet in a short countdown. The round starts and a multiplier climbs from 1.00x: a plane in Aviator, a jet in JetX, an astronaut in Spaceman, a jetpack in Lucky Jet. You press cash out whenever you like and win your stake times the multiplier at that moment. At a random point the round crashes, and any bet still running is lost.
Some rounds crash almost instantly; a few run past 100x. Everyone in the round sees the same flight, which is why crash games have live bet lists and chat.
The maths in one line
The chance that a round reaches a multiplier is about the RTP divided by that multiplier. With a 97% RTP, a 2x cash-out works about 48.5% of the time, 5x about 19% and 10x about 9.7%. Whatever target you choose, the long-run return is the same. Our crash probability calculator shows the odds for any target and RTP.
Our picks
- Aviator (Spribe): the original, provably fair, two bets per round, at SA-licensed bookmakers.
- Aviamasters (BGaming): a plane that collects multipliers over the sea, with a high RTP.
- Spaceman (Pragmatic Play): adds a 50% cash-out to bank half your bet mid-flight.
- JetX (SmartSoft): the other 2019 classic, with several bets per round.
- Lucky Jet and Rocket Queen: 1Win originals, only at 1Win.
- Tower Rush (Galaxsys): a tower-building twist on the crash idea.
Provably fair or not?
Aviator and the 1Win originals use seed-based provably fair systems, so you can check a round after it ends with our provably fair verifier. Spaceman and JetX rely on lab-certified random number generators instead. Both are legitimate; only the first lets you check every round yourself.
Playing crash games safely
Rounds take seconds, so spending adds up quickly. Set a session budget in Rands, use auto cash-out at a target you chose in advance, and ignore streaks in the history bar. Check bonus terms too: many South African offers count crash games at 10% towards wagering, or exclude them. Betway and BetXchange give free Aviator flights, listed on our Aviator bonus page, and our Aviator casinos list has more. The NRGP helpline is 0800 006 008.
Frequently asked questions
What is a crash game?
A betting game where a multiplier rises from 1.00x until it 'crashes' at a random point. You win your stake times the multiplier if you cash out before the crash, and lose the bet if you don't.
Which crash game is best in South Africa?
Aviator is the most widely available, at SA-licensed sites such as Betway and Hollywoodbets, and it is provably fair. JetX, Spaceman and Aviamasters are good alternatives; Lucky Jet and Rocket Queen are only at 1Win.
Is there a crash game strategy that works?
No. The chance of reaching a multiplier is about the RTP divided by that multiplier, so low and high targets have the same long-run return. Auto cash-out helps you stick to a plan, but it doesn't change the odds.
Are Aviator predictor apps real?
No. In provably fair crash games the result is fixed by seeds before the round starts, partly from players' own browsers. Predictor apps and paid signals are scams.
Can I play crash games for free?
Yes. Aviator, JetX, Spaceman and Aviamasters all have free demos on this site, with play money and no sign-up.
