Instant win
Instant win games settle in seconds instead of spinning reels: guide a chicken across the road, pick the right thimble, or drop a pickaxe through a mine. Chicken Road, King Thimbles and Falling Pickaxe lead this fast-growing group. Most are step or reveal games where you choose when to cash out, but the house edge is built into every step.

What counts as instant win
Instant win games skip reels and paylines. A round is one quick decision, or a short series of them, and you see the result straight away. There are three main types:
- Step games: each step raises a multiplier, and you cash out before you hit a hazard. Chicken Road and Chicken Road 2 are the stars; Mine Island gives the idea an island theme.
- Pick and reveal games: choose where the prize is hiding. King Thimbles from Pixmove is the most searched example in South Africa.
- Drop and mining games: a new group of pickaxe games where a tool falls through blocks and collects what it breaks. Falling Pickaxe leads it, and Mary's Mining Mania adds a crash-style mine-cart ride.
Others on this site include Plinko X from SmartSoft and the football-themed Soccer Striker 2.
The odds in step games
In a step game, each step’s multiplier is set from your chance of surviving that far, so the long-run return is the same whether you stop at step one or step ten. If one lane in four is dangerous, surviving three lanes happens about 42% of the time and ten lanes about 6%. Higher difficulty levels make each step riskier and the multipliers bigger, not better value. Our crash probability calculator shows how targets and RTP relate.
RTPs vary a lot
These games come from many studios, and their published RTPs range from about 95% to 98%. On fast games that difference matters: the original Chicken Road lists 98%, while third-party data shows its sequel lower. Always open the rules screen in the game to check the version your casino runs.
Fair play and fakes
Some instant games are provably fair, others use lab-certified random number generators; each game page says which, if we could confirm it. Popular titles attract copies, so play only at a licensed casino, and ignore “signals”, predictor bots and “best time to play” tips. None can know a random result.
Where to play
Instant games are mostly carried by offshore casinos with crash or mini-game sections; our featured casino is 1Win. Check whether your bonus counts on these games before you claim, since many offers exclude them. For verifiable alternatives, see the provably fair hub. Help is available on 0800 006 008.
Frequently asked questions
What are instant win games?
Casino games that give a result in one quick action or a short series of steps, instead of reels. Examples are Chicken Road, King Thimbles, Falling Pickaxe, Mine Island and scratch-style games.
Is Chicken Road legit?
Chicken Road is a real game from InOut Games, offered at licensed casinos. Be careful of standalone 'Chicken Road' apps that aren't casinos and of anyone selling signals, which can't predict a random game.
Are pickaxe and mining games slots?
No. Games like Falling Pickaxe and Mine Island have no reels. A pickaxe drops through blocks, or you dig spots on a grid, and the result is paid straight away.
Can I play instant win games for free?
Many have free demos. On this site you can try Mine Island, Mary's Mining Mania, Plinko X and others in fun mode; Pixmove and InOut demos open on the studios' own sites.
