Falling Pickaxe demo

How Falling Pickaxe works

Falling Pickaxe from Pixmove Games, the studio behind King Thimbles, came out in June 2026 and quickly picked up searches in South Africa. It belongs to a new group of “pickaxe” or mining games: instead of spinning reels, you drop a tool through a board and watch what it breaks.

1. Set your stake.
2. Drop the pickaxe. It falls down a grid of blocks.
3. Blocks react: stone slows it, ore clusters add value, TNT blasts open a path, slime and arrows push it sideways, and upgrade cells make the pickaxe stronger.
4. Collect: when the pickaxe stops or reaches the bottom, you’re paid the total it gathered.

Each drop is over in seconds and needs no decisions after you press play. That makes it closer to a scratch card than to Mines or Chicken Road.

Features

• Ore and gem blocks that add multipliers to the drop.
• TNT that clears space and can open a long fall.
• Upgrade cells that make the pickaxe break more blocks.
• Random multipliers on certain drops.
• Buy feature for a boosted drop, where the casino allows it.

The top win is listed at 160x the stake.

RTP and volatility in plain words

Published game data lists an RTP of 95% and low volatility. Low volatility with a modest top win means frequent small returns and no life-changing hits. Most drops pay back part of your stake or a little more; a great drop pays a good multiple, but well below a slot’s top prizes.

A 95% RTP is a little below average. Over many quick drops, that difference costs you: R1,000 of stakes returns, on average, about R950.

Is it provably fair?

Not confirmed. Pixmove says its games use a certified RNG, tested by Gaming Associates, under an Anjouan licence. That’s a lab-tested system, not a seed you can check yourself. For games you can verify round by round, see the provably fair hub.

Honest tips

• It’s quick, so set a drop limit. Fast games eat budgets without you noticing.
• Buys don’t improve value. A boosted drop costs more and pays from the same RTP.
• Ignore “best time to drop” tips. Every drop is random.
• Watch out for fakes. Search results include blocky mining games that aren’t casino games; play only at a licensed casino.
