How a round of Chicken Road works
Chicken Road from InOut Games is a “step multiplier” game. It looks like an arcade game: a chicken stands at the side of a road made of lanes, and in each lane a hazard may be waiting.
- Pick a stake and a difficulty.
- Move one lane forward. If the lane is safe, your multiplier goes up.
- Cash out at any point to bank stake times the current multiplier.
- Get fried and the round ends; your bet is lost.
There’s no timer. You choose every step, and the tension builds with each lane. It’s the same core idea as Mines, told as a story.
Difficulty levels
- Easy: most lanes are safe; multipliers climb slowly.
- Medium: a balance of risk and growth.
- Hard: fewer safe lanes, faster multipliers.
- Hardcore: each step is very risky, and the theoretical top multiplier is enormous.
The difficulty changes how fast you win or lose, not the long-run return. The game data shows a theoretical top multiplier of 2542251x on the hardest setting, but casinos cap the maximum payout per bet, and reaching the end of the road on Hardcore is vanishingly rare.
RTP in plain words
InOut publishes an RTP of 98%, high for a casino game. Each step’s multiplier is set from the chance of surviving it, so the edge is the same whether you take one step or ten. If one lane in four is dangerous, surviving three lanes in a row happens about 42% of the time; surviving ten, about 6%.
Is Chicken Road provably fair?
Many sites say it is, but our checked data doesn’t yet confirm a round-by-round verifier, so we don’t mark it provably fair. If the game at your casino shows a server-seed hash before the round and the seeds afterwards, you can check rounds with our provably fair verifier. If it doesn’t, you’re relying on the casino’s licence and the studio’s RNG testing.
Honest tips
- Set your cash-out lane before you start. The game is designed for “one more step”.
- Higher difficulty isn’t better value. It’s the same RTP with bigger swings.
- Signals and predictor apps are scams. Hazard positions are random.
- Watch for fake versions. Play only at a licensed casino, not a standalone “Chicken Road” app.
