Mines demo

Mines is Spribe's provably fair grid game: you pick tiles on a 5×5 board, each safe tile raises your multiplier, and hitting a mine loses the bet. You choose how many mines are hidden and when to cash out. The RTP is fixed whatever you choose, and every round can be verified.

How a round of Mines works

Mines from Spribe is a modern version of Minesweeper with a bet on top. The board is a 5×5 grid of 25 tiles, some hiding mines and the rest hiding stars.

  1. Set your stake and the number of mines. More mines make each tile riskier and each safe pick worth more.
  2. Pick tiles. Each star you reveal raises your multiplier.
  3. Cash out at any moment to win your stake times the current multiplier.
  4. Hit a mine and the round ends; the bet is lost and the whole board is shown.

There’s no time limit within a round. You decide every click, which makes Mines feel more like a decision game than a slot, though the odds work the same way.

The odds, in plain numbers

Mines is a game where you can work the odds out yourself. With 3 mines on 25 tiles:

  • First tile safe: 22 in 25, or 88%.
  • Two safe tiles in a row: 88% × 21/24 ≈ 77%.
  • Five safe tiles: about 50%.

The multiplier for each step is set at roughly the RTP divided by your chance of having survived that far. That is why the house edge is the same whatever you do. Spribe’s RTP for Mines is 97%, and the top payout is capped at 10000x.

Features

  • Choose the mine count before each round.
  • Random pick button if you don’t want to choose tiles.
  • Auto mode: set tiles in advance and a stop-loss or stop-win.
  • Bet history with a provably fair check for every round.

How to verify a Mines round

Mines uses Spribe’s provably fair system, the same family as Aviator:

  1. Before you play, the game shows the hash of the next server seed. That locks the mine positions without revealing them.
  2. Your browser supplies a client seed, which you can change in the provably fair settings.
  3. A nonce counts your rounds. The server seed, client seed and nonce together decide where the mines are.
  4. After the round, open it in your history to see the revealed server seed. Hash it (SHA-256) and check it matches the hash you were shown before. Then use the seeds to recreate the board.

Our provably fair verifier does the hashing for you. Changing your client seed whenever you like means Spribe can’t have chosen a board to beat you.

Honest tips

  • No pattern exists. Corners, edges or “the same tiles as last time” are all equally likely to hide mines.
  • Predictor apps are scams. Mine positions come from seeds you can only see after the round.
  • Decide your cash-out step in advance. Mines is easy to over-play one click at a time.
  • Use auto mode’s stop-loss if you play many rounds.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play Mines?

Choose your stake and the number of mines, then click tiles one by one. Each safe tile (a star) raises the multiplier; cash out whenever you want. If you uncover a mine, the round ends and the bet is lost.

Is there a Mines strategy that wins?

No. The multipliers are priced so that every choice of mines and tiles has the same long-run return. More mines and more tiles mean bigger wins less often, not better value.

Is Spribe Mines rigged?

No. Mines is provably fair: the mine positions are fixed by seeds before you click, and you can check them after the round. Fake 'Mines predictor' apps can't see those positions.

Can I play Mines for free?

Yes, the demo on this page is Spribe's own fun-mode version in Rands, with no sign-up.

Where can I play Mines in South Africa?

Spribe games are carried by South African-licensed sites including Hollywoodbets, Betway and YesPlay. Look in their crash or fast-games section.
