How to deposit with Instant EFT (EasyEFT, BetterEFT, EFTsecure, Callpay, Swiffy)

  1. Choose Instant EFT / EasyEFT in the cashier
  2. Select your bank and log in through the secure payment page
  3. Approve with the OTP or banking-app prompt
  4. Funds reflect within minutes

What instant EFT is

A normal EFT is a transfer you send yourself, and the receiver waits for it to clear. Instant EFT adds a payment service in the middle: you choose your bank on a secure page, sign in or approve in your banking app, and the service tells the casino straight away that the money has left your account. Your balance updates in minutes.

Ozow is the biggest name and has its own page. This page covers the other processors South African players meet in cashiers: EasyEFT, BetterEFT, EFTsecure, Callpay, Stitch and Swiffy. Sites often just label them “Instant EFT”. In our data 22 brands offer one of them, and they matter most at offshore casinos that take Rands, such as Springbok Casino, Punt Casino, Thunderbolt Casino, Imperial Wins and 1Win. Local bookmakers such as LottoStar, BetXchange and SuperSportBet list it too.

Supported banks depend on the processor, but Absa, Capitec, FNB, Nedbank and Standard Bank work with all of them.

How to deposit with instant EFT

  1. Open the cashier and choose Instant EFT (or the processor’s name, such as EasyEFT).
  2. Enter the amount and select your bank.
  3. Log in through the secure page or approve the request in your banking app; many banks also send an OTP.
  4. Confirm the payment. The processor sends you back to the casino and the money shows within a few minutes.

A word on security. Some processors ask for your internet banking username and password on their own page. That is how screen-scraping instant EFT works, and established services handle it safely, but it means you should only ever start the payment from inside a casino’s cashier. Never enter banking details on a page reached from an email, SMS or WhatsApp message. If your bank offers app approval instead, choose it.

How to withdraw

Instant EFT is a one-way method at most sites. Winnings come back by normal bank transfer to an account in your name, after FICA checks. At offshore casinos that can take three to five business days in total, because the approval step is slower than at local bookmakers. In our data PantherBet, Jabula Bets and Betshezi list instant EFT payouts, which arrive much faster.

Before you deposit at an offshore casino, check its withdrawal minimum and speed in the table above. Several RTG casinos publish minimum withdrawals far higher than their R25 minimum deposit.

Fees, limits and speed

  • Fees: normally free for the player. Offshore casinos sometimes route the payment through a foreign processor, which can show on your statement under an unfamiliar name.
  • Minimum deposit: Lucky Fish lists R1, Springbok Casino R25, 1Win R100. Most others follow the brand’s general minimum.
  • Maximum: your bank’s daily online-payment limit and the casino’s cap.
  • Speed: deposits within minutes. Withdrawals by bank EFT, one to five business days depending on the operator.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Fast deposits from a normal South African bank account.
  • Available at offshore casinos that do not take Ozow or Capitec Pay.
  • No card needed and usually no fee.

Cons

  • Deposit-only at almost every site.
  • Some processors ask for your banking password on their page.
  • Statement descriptions can be confusing at offshore sites.
  • Less consistent than Ozow: processors change from one casino to the next.

When an instant EFT fails

Most failed payments come down to three things. The bank session timed out because the approval took too long; start again and approve faster. Your daily online-payment limit is lower than the deposit; raise it in your banking app. Or your bank blocked the payment as unusual, which happens more often with offshore merchants; your bank’s app or fraud line can confirm it. If money left your account but the casino balance did not change, send support the payment reference rather than paying a second time.

Which instant method should you use?

If the site offers Ozow or, for Capitec clients, Capitec Pay, those are the most widely trusted options. Use another instant EFT processor when it is the only fast bank option, which is common at offshore casinos. If you prefer not to connect your bank at all, a 1Voucher bought with cash is the alternative, and crypto (Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT)) is the other route at offshore sites.

Remember that offshore casinos are not licensed by a South African provincial board, so if a payout goes wrong you cannot complain to a local regulator. Our crypto casinos and low deposit casinos lists show who is behind each brand. Set a deposit limit before you play, and call 0800 006 008 for free, confidential help if you need it.

Frequently asked questions

What is instant EFT at an online casino?

It is a payment page that logs in to your bank (or asks for app approval) and confirms the transfer immediately, so the casino credits your account within minutes. EasyEFT, EFTsecure, Callpay, Swiffy and Ozow are all instant EFT services.

Is instant EFT safe?

Reputable processors use bank-grade encryption and many banks now ask you to approve in the app. The risk is that some services ask for your internet banking login on their own page, so only use instant EFT inside the casino's cashier and never on a link someone sends you.

Can I withdraw with instant EFT?

Generally not. Instant EFT is built for deposits; winnings are paid back by normal bank EFT. PantherBet, Jabula Bets and Betshezi are exceptions in our data.

Which offshore casinos accept instant EFT?

In our data Springbok Casino, Punt Casino, Thunderbolt, Apollo Slots, Silver Sands, White Lotus, Jackpot Cash, Imperial Wins and 1Win all list instant EFT for Rand deposits.
