Lulabet casino review

Who Lulabet suits

Lulabet, sometimes searched for as “Lulabets”, is a South African sportsbook that launched in September 2022 and added a casino and live casino alongside it. Sports is clearly the main product, but casino players get a simple welcome: deposit and bet R250, receive 100 free spins on one of the most popular slots in the country.

It suits you if you:

• would deposit R250 anyway and want spins on top;
• like Pragmatic Play’s Gates of Olympus series;
• want very low deposits (R5 by voucher) and unusual withdrawal options, including cash payouts by Instant Money;
• value 24-hour live chat.

It suits you less if you want a large casino lobby or a no deposit start. Reviews describe Lulabet’s casino as limited next to the big brands, and its spins require R250 of your own money first. For a no deposit start, see our no deposit bonus page.

Claim bonus

To claim the spins:

1. Choose the casino offer when you register (sport and casino are separate welcome choices).
2. Deposit at least R250 within 7 days.
3. Bet R250 on slots or live games.
4. Receive 100 spins on Gates of Olympus 1000.

What the spins are worth

Our data doesn’t publish the spin value. At R1 a spin, 100 spins would be R100 of play; at R0.20, R20. That is a five-fold difference, so confirm the value on the offer page before you deposit.

The wagering is 30x on the spin winnings. If the spins return R80, you need R2,400 of further bets before withdrawing. That’s mid-range for South Africa.

Thinking about the R250

The R250 isn’t a fee: it’s your money, and you play with it. But it is a commitment, and the spins only follow once it’s been bet. Ask yourself whether you’d deposit and play R250 at Lulabet without the spins. If yes, the spins are a free extra. If not, the offer is nudging you to spend more than you planned, and you’re better off skipping it.

Gates of Olympus 1000: what to expect

Gates of Olympus 1000 is a Pragmatic Play slot rated high volatility in our data, with an RTP of 96.5%. It uses a “pay anywhere” grid: eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen pay, winning symbols tumble away, and multiplier orbs can land during the tumbles. In the free spins feature, multipliers add up across the round, which is where the very large wins come from.

That design means 100 spins can do almost nothing, or one feature can pay many times the spins’ value. Go in with no expectations. Our game page has a free demo if you want to see the feature first.

The other Lulabet offers

• Sports welcome: bet R250 at odds of 2.0 or more and get a R250 free bet, covered in the Lulabet betting review.
• R50 offer: bet R50 and choose a R50 free bet or 25 free spins, a smaller version for lighter budgets.
• Multibet bonus up to 225% on accumulators, and a refer-a-friend R50 free bet.

All current promotions are on 100 free spins on Gates of Olympus 1000.

Sports offer or casino offer?

Because Lulabet makes you choose one welcome at registration, it’s worth thinking about which suits you before you sign up.

• Choose the casino spins if you’ll mostly play slots. The spins give you extra time on a popular game, and their winnings can be withdrawn after 30x wagering.
• Choose the R250 free bet if you bet on football regularly. A free bet at 2.0 or more has a roughly even chance of winning, and its winnings carry only 1x wagering, so in pure Rand terms it is usually the more valuable of the two.
• Choose the R50 version if R250 is more than you want to put in. Bet R50 and pick a R50 free bet or 25 spins.

There is no wrong answer, only the one that matches how you actually play. Picking the casino offer and then spending your time on sport, or the other way round, is the common mistake.

Games and studios

Lulabet’s casino is smaller than its sportsbook, and reviews say so plainly. What it offers:

• Slots: a selection led by Pragmatic Play, including the Gates of Olympus range, Sweet Bonanza and the Big Bass games.
• Live casino: tables from Evolution and Ezugi, the two studios behind most live roulette, blackjack and baccarat at South African sites. Evolution also supplies game shows such as Crazy Time.
• Table games: blackjack and baccarat in the casino section.
• Crash games: Aviator-style games sit alongside the sportsbook.

Our data doesn’t give a game count. If you’re used to lobbies of thousands of games, Lulabet will feel compact. If you mostly play a few favourite slots and some live roulette, it may have everything you need.

Deposits, withdrawals and FICA

Lulabet’s banking is unusually flexible, especially for withdrawals:

The minimum deposit for the site is R50 on most methods in our brand data, with vouchers listed from R5 in the acceptance data. Either way, the casino welcome needs R250.

Withdrawals

Lulabet processes withdrawals during business hours, Monday to Friday, with payouts taking 24-48 hours (weekdays) according to Goal.com. The site itself has described withdrawals as processed immediately, so expect a range.

The OTT payout route is the interesting one. Instead of an EFT to your bank, Lulabet can pay you an OTT voucher, which you can then send on to an FNB eWallet or redeem as Instant Money and collect cash. That’s useful if you don’t have a bank account in your name, or prefer to keep gambling money away from your main account.

Taking an OTT payout, step by step

1. Request a withdrawal in the cashier and choose the OTT payout option.
2. Lulabet issues an OTT voucher PIN for the amount.
3. Redeem the PIN through OTT to move the money on: to an FNB eWallet, as Instant Money for cash collection, or into another account that accepts OTT.
4. Keep the PIN private. Anyone with it can redeem the voucher.

This route suits small and medium withdrawals. For large amounts, a straight EFT to your bank is simpler and easier to trace.

FICA

Lulabet is licensed in the Western Cape, so FICA applies to every account. Upload your SA ID and proof of address before your first withdrawal. Non-bank payout routes don’t remove the need for verification.

Mobile

Lulabet has apps for Android and iPhone. The casino, live casino and sportsbook share the app, and live chat sits in the top menu next to the deposit button, according to reviews, which makes it easy to reach support mid-session.

Gates of Olympus 1000 plays well on phones, though its tumbling animations can be slow on older devices; turn on quick spin if the game offers it. If you use voucher deposits, the app makes them quick: buy a 1Voucher or OTT voucher in your banking app or at a till, then paste the PIN into Lulabet’s cashier. Keep a note of the vouchers you buy each week. Small R5 and R20 top-ups are easy to lose track of, and adding them up now and then is a simple way to see what you’re really spending. For more apps, see our mobile casinos list.

How Lulabet compares

Next to the other licensed sportsbooks that launched in the last few years, Lulabet sits in the middle on bonuses and near the top on payment flexibility. Supabets gives new players a no deposit choice of spins or a free bet, which Lulabet doesn’t. Easybet has a bigger casino lobby. But few South African sites let you take winnings as an OTT voucher, an FNB eWallet transfer or Instant Money cash, and very few accept R5 deposits.

That makes Lulabet a particularly good fit for players who don’t bank online much, or who prefer cash. It’s also a good reminder that the best site isn’t always the one with the biggest offer: if you can’t easily get your money out in a way that suits you, the bonus doesn’t matter much.

Verdict

Lulabet is a licensed, sports-led site with a straightforward casino offer: put R250 into play and receive 100 spins on Gates of Olympus 1000, with 30x on the winnings. It’s fair if you’d spend R250 anyway, and not worth chasing if you wouldn’t.

Its standout features are practical: R5 voucher deposits, withdrawals as OTT vouchers, FNB eWallet or Instant Money, and live chat around the clock. Its weak spot is a compact casino. For slot players who also bet on football, it’s a sensible second account. For casino-first players, compare it with the brands below.
