What Gates of Olympus 1000 is
Gates of Olympus 1000 is a 2023 release from Pragmatic Play and one of the most played slots in the world. It’s the “1000” edition of Gates of Olympus: Zeus still floats beside a grid of gems, crowns and goblets, and the rules are the same. What changes is the size of the multipliers.
South Africans search “gates of olympus 1000 demo in rands” more than almost any other slot query on this site. The demo on this page is Pragmatic’s own and usually shows rands.
How a round works
The game uses a six-reel, five-row grid that pays anywhere: eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen win, no lines.
- Tumbles: winners disappear and new symbols fall in, so one spin can pay several times.
- Multiplier orbs: Zeus can drop orbs worth from small values up to 1,000x. When the tumbles end, all orbs on screen are added and applied to the spin’s total win.
Free spins
Four or more scatters trigger free spins. During the round, every orb that lands adds to a running total multiplier, which applies to every later win in the feature. More scatters add extra spins. A bonus buy is available where allowed.
The maximum win is 15000 times your stake.
RTP and volatility in plain words
The RTP is 96.5%, around the average. Pragmatic offers casinos lower RTP versions, so check the info screen before you play.
Volatility is high. Most spins return little, and many free spins rounds pay less than you’d hope. The 1,000x orbs are what make huge wins possible, and they’re rare.
Which Gates should you play?
- Gates of Olympus: the original, smaller orbs.
- Gates of Olympus 1000 (this page): bigger orbs, higher top win.
- Gates of Olympus Super Scatter: adds an instant-prize Super Scatter.
- Gates of Olympus 1000 Dice: the 1000 version with dice symbols.
- Gates of Pyroth: a medium volatility cluster-pays relative.
All except the Dice version have free demos here, so you can compare them without spending anything.
Using a bonus on it
Gates of Olympus 1000 is one of the most common games named in South African free spins offers. If you’re wagering a bonus on it, read two terms: the maximum bet while wagering and any maximum cash-out on bonus winnings. With high volatility, a bonus balance can disappear quickly, so a lower stake usually gives it more of a chance.
Why the demo is shown in rands
Pragmatic’s demo launcher picks a currency based on where you’re visiting from, so South African visitors usually see stakes like R2 or R10 rather than euros or fun coins. That makes the demo a more realistic preview: you can see what a R5 spin would win or lose. The balance is still play money and can’t be withdrawn.
Honest tips
- Learn in the demo. It’s identical to the real game.
- Bonus buys are expensive and pay back less than their price on average.
- No orb timing exists. Orbs land at random.
- Set a stop-loss and keep to it.
