Gates of Olympus slot demo
Gates of Olympus is Pragmatic Play's 6×5 pay-anywhere slot where Zeus drops random multiplier orbs onto tumbling wins. In free spins the multipliers add up across the round, which is how the top win is reached. It is high volatility and one of the most-used free spins games in South Africa.

How a round works
Gates of Olympus has a 6-reel, 5-row grid and no paylines. A win needs eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen. When you win, those symbols vanish, the rest tumble down, new ones fall in, and the grid is checked again. The tumble continues until nothing new matches.
On top of that, Zeus can drop multiplier orbs onto the grid during any spin. Each orb shows a value between 2x and 500x. When the tumble sequence ends, all orbs on screen are added together and applied to the total win of that spin. An orb on a spin with no win does nothing.
Features
- Pay anywhere and tumble: eight or more of a symbol pays, wherever they sit; wins clear and refill.
- Multiplier orbs: random values from 2x up to 500x, added together at the end of a tumble.
- Free spins: four or more scatters give 15 free spins. During the round every multiplier that lands with a win is added to a running total, and that total multiplies every later win in the round. Three scatters in the round add five spins.
- Ante bet and buy feature: paying 25% more per spin roughly doubles the chance of free spins; where allowed, you can also buy the round for 100x your stake. Some casinos switch the buy off.
The top win is capped at 5000x your stake.
RTP and volatility
The default RTP is 95.51%. Pragmatic Play also supplies lower versions to casinos, so open the paytable (the “i” button) in the real-money game to see which one you are playing. Over a short session the RTP tells you very little.
Gates of Olympus is high volatility. The base game often pays less than your stake, and a large share of the return sits in free spins with a good multiplier total. Expect long stretches of small or no wins.
Honest tips
- There is no best time to play. Searches for “best time to play Gates of Olympus” are common, but outcomes are random on every spin.
- Ante bet costs 25% more on every spin. It only helps if you would otherwise buy the bonus; for small balances it shortens your session.
- Bonus buys are expensive. At 100x per buy, a R2 stake costs R200 a go, and many buys return less than that.
- Use the demo to learn the pace, then decide whether a high-volatility game suits your budget.
