Ozow casinos and betting sites
Ozow is South Africa's most widely accepted instant EFT: more than 30 casinos and betting sites in our data take it, and deposits reflect in seconds. It pulls money straight from your bank account with no card, and usually costs you nothing, but only a handful of brands also pay winnings out through it.

What Ozow is and where it works
Ozow is a Cape Town payment company that lets you pay from your bank account without a card. When you pick Ozow in a cashier, it opens a secure page where you choose your bank, then confirm the payment with your banking app or online banking login. The money moves straight from your account to the operator, and the deposit shows up in your betting balance within seconds.
That makes Ozow the instant-EFT method most South African sites have settled on. In our data it is accepted by more than 30 brands, from provincially licensed bookmakers such as Betway, Hollywoodbets, Supabets and Playabets to 1Win, our featured casino. It is one of the main reasons you no longer need to wait days for a manual bank transfer to clear.
All the big banks are supported: Absa, Capitec, FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank, Investec, TymeBank, African Bank and Bidvest Bank. If you can bank on your phone, you can deposit with Ozow.
How to deposit with Ozow
The steps above the article show the short version. In practice it looks like this:
- Log in to the casino or betting site and open the deposit page.
- Choose Ozow (sometimes labelled “Instant EFT by Ozow”) and type the amount.
- Pick your bank from the list.
- Either log in with your online banking details on Ozow’s page, or approve the push notification in your banking app. Some banks also send an OTP.
- Return to the site. The balance updates as soon as the payment is approved.
If the payment fails, it is usually because the bank timed out or you have not set up online banking. Nothing leaves your account unless you approve it, so you can simply try again.
Claiming a bonus? Ozow deposits normally count towards welcome bonuses. Tick the bonus box or enter the code before you confirm, and check that the bonus terms do not exclude instant EFT. Our bonus pages list the terms for each offer.
How to withdraw
Withdrawals are where Ozow differs from site to site. Most bookmakers use Ozow for deposits only and pay winnings back by bank EFT. A growing group pays out through Ozow directly, which in practice means the money lands in your bank account within minutes to about two hours after approval. In our data that group includes 10bet, Easybet, Goldrush, Playabets, TicTacBets, PantherBet, Mzansibet, ZARbet and World Sports Betting.
Wherever you withdraw, the steps are similar:
- Finish FICA verification first: upload your ID and proof of address (and sometimes a bank statement). No licensed operator pays out before this.
- Open the withdrawal page and choose Ozow or bank transfer.
- Enter the amount; the account must be in your own name.
- Wait for the operator to approve the request, then for the bank to receive it.
Withdrawal minimums are set by the site. In our data they range from R50 (Betway, Goldrush, Playabets) to R300 at 10bet.
Fees, limits and speed
- Fees: free for the player at most sites. Ozow bills the merchant. Betway is reported to pass on about R1 per transaction.
- Minimum deposit: set by the operator, commonly R10 to R50. Lucky Fish lists R1.
- Maximum deposit: limited by your bank’s daily EFT limit and the operator’s own cap. You can raise your bank limit in your banking app.
- Speed: deposits are instant. Ozow payouts, where offered, typically take minutes to two hours. Bank EFT payouts take one to three business days.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Instant deposits from any major South African bank.
- No card needed, and the operator never sees your banking details.
- Accepted by more SA casinos and bookmakers than any other instant method.
- Normally free, with low minimum deposits.
Cons
- Most brands still pay out by normal EFT, not Ozow.
- You need online or app banking switched on.
- A few sites add a small per-deposit fee.
- Bank daily limits can block large deposits until you raise them.
Ozow or the alternatives?
If you bank with Capitec, Capitec Pay does the same job inside the Capitec app without a login page. If you want to keep gambling money separate from your bank account altogether, a cash voucher such as 1Voucher or OTT Voucher works at most of the same bookmakers. Other instant-EFT processors (EasyEFT, EFTsecure, Callpay) are covered on our Instant EFT (EasyEFT, BetterEFT, EFTsecure, Callpay, Swiffy) page, and the slow but universal option is a manual EFT / bank transfer.
Whichever method you choose, set a deposit limit in your account before you play. Instant deposits are convenient, which is exactly why a limit helps. If gambling stops being fun, the National Responsible Gambling Programme is free on 0800 006 008.

Frequently asked questions
Is Ozow safe for gambling deposits?
Yes. Ozow is a South African payment company that connects to your bank's own login or app approval, so the casino never sees your banking password or card number. You still approve every payment yourself.
Can I withdraw to Ozow?
Only at a few brands. In our data 10bet, Easybet, Goldrush, Playabets, TicTacBets, PantherBet and a handful of others pay out through Ozow, often within two hours. Everywhere else, withdrawals go to your bank account by EFT.
Does Ozow charge a fee for casino deposits?
Usually not. Ozow charges the merchant, not you. A few bookmakers pass on a small fee of about R1 per deposit, so check the cashier before you pay.
Which banks work with Ozow?
Absa, Capitec, FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank, Investec, TymeBank, African Bank and Bidvest Bank all work with Ozow. You need online or app banking switched on.
What is the minimum Ozow deposit?
It depends on the site, not on Ozow. Several bookmakers accept R10, and Lucky Fish lists R1, while others start at R20 or R50. The table on this page shows each brand's minimum where it is published.
