Apexbets betting review
Apexbets is a South African bookmaker launched in October 2025 that advertises a deposit match of up to R30,000 spread over five deposits. Its wagering isn't published, and sources disagree on its licence: our data lists the Gauteng board, while other reviews cite a Western Cape licence. It takes Ozow, cards, 1Voucher and EFT.

03Our review
Apexbets in short
Apexbets is one of the newest names in South African betting. It launched in October 2025, and several reviews name the operator as Letsbet (Pty) Ltd, a South African-registered company. It’s a sports-only bookmaker in our data, betting in Rands, with a headline welcome deal spread across five deposits.
Being new has two sides. Apexbets is keen to attract customers, which shows in the size of its bonus. But it has little track record, its bonus terms aren’t fully published, and the details of its licence vary between sources. This review sets out what we know and what you should check yourself.
The welcome bonus: up to R30,000 over five deposits
Our data lists a deposit match of up to R30,000 across your first five deposits. Spreading a bonus over several deposits is common with large headline figures: no single deposit earns the full amount.
What’s not in our data:
- Rollover: not published
- Minimum odds: not published
- Time limit: not published
- How the R30,000 is split between the five deposits
There’s also a conflict: one review quotes the offer as up to R5,000, not R30,000. That may be the first-deposit part of the package, or a different version of the offer. Until Apexbets’ own terms confirm it, treat the R30,000 as the maximum across the whole package, not what you’ll get from one deposit.
How to judge a five-deposit bonus
Multi-deposit packages can look generous while asking a lot. Before you opt in, find out:
- the match on each deposit, for example 100% on the first and 50% on the rest
- the rollover on each part, and whether it applies to the bonus or bonus plus deposit
- the time limit, and whether each part has its own clock
- the minimum odds for qualifying bets
Then work out the betting needed. A 5x rollover on R30,000 would be R150,000 of bets, far beyond most punters. The useful version of the bonus is usually the first deposit or two. Our wagering calculator turns any rollover into Rands, and our welcome bonus page lists offers whose terms are confirmed.
The licence question
This is the most important part of the review. Sources disagree:
- Our data lists a Gauteng Gambling Board licence with the number GGB-012948-2026.
- Two other reviews quote the Apexbets site footer as naming Letsbet (Pty) Ltd under a Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board bookmaker licence. One gives number 10194002-001, issued on 1 December 2024; the other 10194002-002, issued on 26 November 2025.
We couldn’t verify any of these numbers against a board’s register from our sources. It’s possible Apexbets holds licences in more than one province, or that one source is out of date. Either way, it’s something you should check, not something to take on trust:
- Scroll to the footer of the Apexbets site and note the board and licence number.
- Look the number up on that board’s website: the Gauteng Gambling Board or the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.
- If you can’t find it, don’t deposit.
A provincial licence is what gives you a complaint route if a bet or withdrawal goes wrong. That’s why our how we rate method scores unclear licence details lower.
Sports markets
Our data lists Apexbets for the core competitions South African bookmakers cover:
- Football: the Betway Premiership (PSL), Nedbank Cup, Carling Knockout, Bafana Bafana, AFCON, the EPL, the Champions League and La Liga
- Rugby: the Springboks, the URC and the Currie Cup
- Cricket: the Proteas, SA20 and the IPL
- Other sports: tennis, golf, boxing and MMA
These come from a general assumption that full South African sportsbooks price these competitions, rather than from a detailed check of Apexbets’ menu. Expect the main markets on each match. Our PSL betting sites list compares depth among established books.
Not in our data: horse racing, Lucky Numbers, esports and virtual sports. For racing, see our horse racing betting sites; for Lucky Numbers, our Lucky Numbers list.
Odds
Apexbets is too new for a pricing record. New bookmakers often offer keen prices on headline matches to attract customers. Compare a few of your regular bets with an established site before you move your betting. The odds converter helps with fractional odds.
Live betting and cash-out
Our data doesn’t confirm in-play betting or cash-out at Apexbets. Look for a live section and a cash-out button on the bet slip before relying on either. Bookmakers where cash-out is confirmed are on our live betting list.
Mobile
Our data doesn’t confirm an Apexbets app on Android or iOS. Use the mobile site in your phone’s browser, and check your app store for the current status. If an app matters, compare our betting apps list.
Payments and withdrawals
Apexbets’ cashier in our data:
- Instant EFT: Ozow
- Cards: Visa and Mastercard
- Voucher: 1Voucher
- Bank transfer: EFT / bank transfer
That covers the essentials for most punters. Our data doesn’t list the minimum deposit.
On withdrawals, one review reports slow payment processing, with withdrawals taking up to 3 business days to clear. That’s slower than the same-day or next-day payouts many established bookmakers advertise. Plan for it: don’t count on winnings reaching your account before the weekend if you withdraw on a Thursday.
Complete FICA straight after you register. Verification delays are the most common reason a first withdrawal takes longer still.
Support
One review reports slow customer support. Our data doesn’t list Apexbets’ channels or hours. With a new bookmaker, slow support is often a sign of a small team growing into its customer base. It may improve, but factor it in if you bet in-play and might need quick help.

Next to two other bookmakers in our data:
- Bet.co.za has two confirmed licences, more than 15 years of trading, a 100% match up to R5,000 at 6x over 30 days, and cash-out.
- Swifty Sports is also new, but its WCGRB licence number and bonus terms are clear, and it takes Capitec Pay and Apple Pay.
Apexbets’ only clear advantage is the size of its headline bonus, which you can’t yet value properly.
What a new bookmaker has to prove
Every bookmaker starts somewhere, and some of today’s best-known local brands were small newcomers a few years ago. The things that separate a trustworthy new book from a risky one take time to show:
- Withdrawals paid on time, every time, including bigger wins
- Consistent bet settlement, with clear rules on voids and errors
- Support that answers within hours, not days
- Clear terms that don’t change after you’ve opted in
Apexbets has been trading for about a year. The reports of slow payouts and support may be teething problems, or they may last. Watch recent player reviews over the coming months before trusting it with large amounts.
Testing a withdrawal
The simplest way to check any new bookmaker is to test the full cycle with a small amount:
- Deposit a small sum, say R100, without taking the bonus.
- Place a bet or two.
- Request a withdrawal of whatever’s left, and note how long it takes to reach your bank.
If that goes smoothly, you’ve learned more than any review can tell you. If it doesn’t, you’ve only risked R100. Declining the bonus for this test matters: an active bonus usually blocks withdrawals until the rollover is cleared.
Who Apexbets suits
Apexbets suits punters who like trying new bookmakers, bet across many deposits and are willing to read terms carefully. It doesn’t suit anyone who wants quick withdrawals, confirmed licence details or a bonus they can value before depositing.
How to sign up
- Check the licence in the site footer against the board’s register.
- Register with your South African ID, phone number and email.
- Upload your ID and proof of address for FICA.
- Read the welcome terms for each of the five deposits before you opt in.
Verdict
Apexbets is a new South African bookmaker with a big-sounding bonus and a cashier that covers Ozow, cards, 1Voucher and EFT. That’s where the positives end for now.
What holds it back:
- conflicting licence details across sources
- bonus terms not published, and the size quoted differently by different reviews
- reports of slow support and payouts of up to 3 business days
- no confirmed app, cash-out or racing
- almost no track record
We’d wait until Apexbets’ licence and bonus terms are clearer, or start with a small deposit and test a withdrawal before betting more. For established alternatives, see our best betting sites list.
