The law in Guinea
Guinea’s legal betting runs through the state. LONAGUI, the Loterie Nationale de Guinée, runs the state lottery and sports betting, and it’s the lawful way to bet in the country.
Online casinos are not regulated. Guinea has no licence for them and no authority that supervises them. That’s not a ban, but it means a casino website is governed only by its own terms and its foreign licence. If it refuses a withdrawal, no one in Conakry can order it to pay.
This is the position from our research in November 2026. It’s general information, not legal advice, and laws can change. If you need certainty, ask a Guinean lawyer.
LONAGUI or an international site?
LONAGUI’s advantages are the usual ones for a state operator: it’s legal, it works in Guinean francs, and there’s a state body behind it. Its limits are choice and features. International bookmakers offer far more football markets, live betting, casino lobbies and crash games.
The ranked list above shows the international brands that accept Guinean players, according to their restricted-country lists, with 1Win first:
- 1Win, licensed in Curaçao, with a large casino, live dealers, its own crash games and a sportsbook;
- The 1xBet family: 1xBet, 22Bet, Melbet, Betwinner, Megapari and PariPesa;
- Crypto brands: BC.Game, Cloudbet and Rollbit.
None of these is part of LONAGUI’s system. They accept Guinean accounts from abroad, with the protection of a foreign licence only.
The Guinean franc and what it means for your balance
One detail sets Guinea apart from most of its French-speaking neighbours: it does not use the CFA franc. Its currency is the Guinean franc (GNF, shown as FG), which floats and isn’t pegged to the euro.
That matters for offshore play. International sites rarely hold balances in Guinean francs. Your account will usually be in US dollars, euros or crypto, which means:
- a conversion spread when you deposit and another when you withdraw;
- exchange-rate movement while your money sits on the site;
- figures in the cashier that don’t match what lands in your wallet.
Keep balances modest and withdraw winnings rather than letting them build up in a foreign currency.
Paying with mobile money
Our data lists two mobile wallets for Guinea, plus crypto:
- Orange Money, the most widely used;
- MTN MoMo;
- Tether (USDT) at crypto-friendly brands.
Mobile networks in Guinea have changed hands and names over the years, so check the cashier on the day for the wallets a site actually supports. Many offshore cashiers take wallet deposits but pay out only by crypto or bank transfer. Before depositing:
- read the withdrawal page and note which methods pay out for Guinea;
- check the minimum withdrawal and any fees;
- upload your ID early, so your first payout isn’t delayed.
If you end up using USDT, learn the basics first. A transfer to the wrong network or a fake site can’t be reversed. Our crypto casino guide explains wallets and networks; it’s written for South Africa, but the advice applies anywhere.
A checklist before your first deposit
Most complaints from players in the region come down to a handful of avoidable problems. Before you deposit at any offshore site, make sure that:
- Guinea is accepted in the site’s terms and conditions, not just in the country drop-down at sign-up;
- you know which currency your balance will be held in, and roughly what the conversion will cost;
- the cashier shows a withdrawal method you can actually use from Guinea;
- your ID documents are uploaded and approved;
- you have set a deposit limit, and decided whether you want the welcome bonus at all.
Ten minutes spent on this list is far quicker than a week of emails with support after a withdrawal is held.
What to watch for at offshore sites
A distant licence. Most offshore brands are licensed in Curaçao; BC.Game is licensed in Anjouan. Those regulators run complaint processes but can’t enforce anything in Guinea. Our offshore licence guide explains what they cover.
Copies and middlemen. Cloned sites and fake apps circulate on social media, and “agents” offer to fund accounts for a fee. Type the real address yourself, pay the site directly and never install an app from a file someone sends you.
Bonuses. Offers on this page appear only as percentages and spins, because amounts in our data are set for South Africa and don’t apply in Guinea. 1Win’s welcome package is a 500% match spread over your first deposits in the version we track, with the cap and terms for Guinea set in its cashier. Wagering, expiry and maximum-bet rules decide what any bonus is worth; our bonus terms guide explains them.
Football and Syli Nationale
Football is Guinea’s great passion. The national team, the Syli Nationale, has a loyal following, and Guinean players are spread across European leagues. At home, the Championnat National features Conakry clubs with long African histories, Horoya AC and Hafia FC among them, but international bookmakers offer few markets on it.
Most Guinean punters bet on European football: French Ligue 1, the Premier League, the Champions League and La Liga. Those leagues have the deepest markets, the most information and the lowest margins.
The long combined slip is the most popular bet, and the costliest over time, because each extra leg adds the bookmaker’s margin. Our accumulator guide shows how fast a long slip’s real chances fall.
Responsible gambling
We could not confirm a national gambling helpline in Guinea. Use the tools offered on any site you play at:
- deposit limits daily, weekly or monthly;
- time-outs and self-exclusion;
- keeping your wallet PIN private and logging out on shared phones.
Gamblers Anonymous runs online meetings that anyone can join, and a doctor can refer you to support. Betting is entertainment, never a way to earn money or recover losses. Our responsible gambling tools guide and bankroll guide explain how to stay in control.
Neighbouring countries
Sierra Leone and Liberia to the south have English-speaking markets with less clear frameworks. Guinea-Bissau has no specific online gambling law, while Senegal, Mali and Côte d’Ivoire run betting through state lotteries.
Frequently asked questions
Is online betting legal in Guinea?
Legal sports betting in Guinea is run by LONAGUI (Loterie Nationale de Guinée), the state lottery. Offshore betting sites are not part of the state system. This is general information, not legal advice.
Are online casinos legal in Guinea?
Online casinos are not regulated in Guinea. There is no licence or supervising authority for them, which also means no local protection for players.
Does 1Win accept players from Guinea?
Yes. Guinea is not on 1Win's restricted list. 1Win holds a Curaçao licence and is not part of LONAGUI, so a Guinean body can't help you in a dispute.
Which currency do Guinean betting sites use?
Guinea uses the Guinean franc (GNF), not the CFA franc. Offshore sites usually hold balances in US dollars, euros or crypto, so conversion costs apply.
Can I bet with Orange Money in Guinea?
Orange Money and MTN MoMo are the mobile wallets in our data for Guinea. Check that a site pays out to your wallet, not only by crypto, before you deposit.
