The rollover is where this bonus gets expensive. In Rands:

• a R500 deposit plus R500 bonus needs R7,000 of qualifying bets within seven days

That’s far heavier than the 3x-the-bonus terms at SuperSportBet or the 4x at Betfred. It also caps your winnings at R3,000.

What counts towards it is generous, though. Pre-match and live sports bets, BetGames and Lucky Numbers all count at odds of 1.9+. Slots count 10% and live casino 3%. For a Lucky Numbers player, many draws pay well above 1.9, so the odds requirement is easy to meet. The volume still isn’t.

Odds and margins

YesPlay’s prices on main football markets sit with the pack of SA-licensed bookmakers. Because the welcome bonus requires odds of 1.9, think about where your bonus bets go. A two-leg double of 1.40 favourites gives roughly 1.96 and qualifies. A single heavy favourite doesn’t. Use the bet calculator to check combined odds before you place a bet.

Live betting and BetGames

How Lucky Numbers bets work at YesPlay

Lucky Numbers aren’t lottery tickets. They’re fixed-odds bets on what a lottery draw will produce, so you know the payout before the draw. At YesPlay you typically:

1. Choose a draw: SA Powerball, Daily Lotto, UK 49s Lunchtime or Teatime, Gosloto or Keno.
2. Choose how many numbers to pick. Picking one number pays the lowest odds. Picking five pays far more, because all five must come out.
3. Choose whether the bonus ball counts. Including it makes a hit more likely and lowers the odds.
4. Pick your numbers and stake, and check the potential payout on the slip.

Because many Lucky Numbers bets pay well above 1.9, they count towards the welcome rollover. Your expected loss per Rand staked is still set by the odds, and YesPlay’s weekly 10% cashback only returns a slice of that. Decide on a weekly Lucky Numbers budget and treat the cashback as a small refund, not a strategy.

Depositing with cash at Shoprite or Checkers

YesPlay is one of the few bookmakers that takes cash over the counter at Shoprite and Checkers Money Market. It’s useful if you don’t want to link a bank account:

Verdict

The welcome bonus is its weak point. 7x deposit plus bonus in seven days, capped at R3,000, is the tightest set of terms among our top ten betting sites.
