What Mystic Fortune Deluxe is

Mystic Fortune Deluxe is a 2021 remake of one of Habanero’s oldest games, Mystic Fortune. The theme is classic Asian good fortune: gold ingots, koi, dragons and lucky symbols on a red and gold background. It is a mainstay of South African Spina Zonke-style lobbies, sitting comfortably between Habanero’s calm games and its wild ones.

How a round works

The game has five reels and 28 fixed lines. Wins pay left to right for three or more matching symbols on a line. Two features shape the base game:

• Stacked symbols: symbols can land in tall stacks covering a whole reel, which can complete several lines at once.
• Nudges: when a stack or wild lands partly off-screen, it can nudge into full view, turning a near-miss into a win.

Wilds substitute for regular symbols.

Free spins and jackpot

Scatters trigger free spins, and multipliers apply to wins during the round, which is where most of the game’s larger payouts come from. Landing more scatters in the feature adds extra spins. The game is also linked to a progressive jackpot, a separate long-shot prize that can drop at random.

The maximum win is listed at 4733 times your stake. That is much higher than the original game, a result of the stacks and multipliers in the deluxe version.

RTP and volatility in plain words

The headline RTP is 96.71%, which is above average. Like all Habanero games, it comes in several RTP versions that casinos choose from, so the game you play may pay back less. Check the info screen in the game before you play for real.

Volatility is medium. That means wins land fairly regularly, the swings are smaller than on games like Hot Hot Fruit, and a session budget tends to last longer. Medium volatility doesn’t mean a lower house edge, though; the RTP decides that.

Honest tips

• Learn the nudge in the demo. It’s the feature that makes this game feel generous. Seeing how often it actually turns a spin into a win helps you judge the game realistically.
• Good for longer sessions. If you like playing for time rather than chasing big hits, a medium volatility game fits. Keep a time limit anyway.
• Use free spins offers here. Medium volatility games are a sensible place to use sign-up free spins because the winnings tend to be steadier.
• Check wagering before you claim. Our wagering calculator shows what you’d need to stake to cash out bonus winnings.

Original or Deluxe?

The 2013 Mystic Fortune is a 25-line game with free spins and a jackpot, and nothing else. It’s simpler, its top win is lower, and it suits players who like a no-frills slot. Deluxe adds the stacks and nudges, three more lines and a stronger free spins round. Both are medium volatility, so the choice is mostly about how much is happening on screen. Play both demos for a few minutes; you’ll know quickly which one you prefer.
