Online casinos and betting in Togo
Sports betting in Togo is legal through LONATO, the Loterie Nationale Togolaise, which holds the state monopoly on lotteries and betting; online casinos are not regulated. Offshore brands led by 1Win accept Togolese players, and most deposits go through T-Money, Flooz or USDT.

The legal picture in Togo
Togo follows the state-monopoly model common in francophone West Africa. LONATO, the Loterie Nationale Togolaise, holds the monopoly on lotteries and sports betting. If you want to bet within Togolese law, LONATO is the operator to use.
Online casinos are not regulated. No law licenses them and no authority supervises them. That’s different from a ban, but it leaves players with no local safety net: if a casino website refuses a withdrawal, nobody in Lomé can order it to pay.
This is the position from our research in November 2026. Laws change, and this page is general information rather than legal advice. If you need certainty, consult a Togolese lawyer.
What LONATO offers and what it doesn’t
LONATO’s strength is that it’s local and legal. You bet in CFA francs, you’re inside the Togolese system, and there’s a state body behind the product. Its limits are choice and features: the international books offer far more markets, live betting on more leagues, casino lobbies and crash games.
That gap is why offshore brands are popular in Togo. The trade-off is protection. Before you pick a site, decide which matters more to you.
The international brands that accept Togo
These are the brands that accept Togolese players, according to their restricted-country lists. They’re in the ranked list above, with 1Win first:
- 1Win, licensed in Curaçao, with a large casino, live dealers, its own crash games and a sportsbook;
- The 1xBet family: 1xBet, 22Bet, Melbet, Betwinner, Megapari and PariPesa;
- Crypto brands: BC.Game, Cloudbet and Rollbit.
Togo sits between Ghana and Benin, and you’ll see brands licensed in Ghana or Nigeria advertised locally. A licence from another country covers that country, not Togo. From Togo’s point of view, they’re offshore too.
T-Money, Flooz and crypto
Togo’s mobile money market is a two-horse race, and our data lists both wallets plus crypto:
- T-Money, from Togocom;
- Flooz, from Moov Africa;
- Tether (USDT), used at crypto-friendly brands.
Cards are less common for betting in Togo than wallets, and offshore cashiers don’t always offer T-Money or Flooz. Where they don’t, players often buy USDT and send it to the site. Crypto works, but it has costs: you lose a little on each conversion, and a transfer to the wrong address or a fake site can’t be reversed. If you’re new to it, read a basic guide to wallets and networks before you start; ours is in the crypto casino guide, written for South Africa but valid anywhere.
Togo uses the West African CFA franc (XOF, shown as CFA), which is pegged to the euro. Offshore balances are often held in euros, dollars or crypto, so expect a spread on the way in and the way out.
Before your first deposit
A short checklist saves most of the trouble players report:
- Restricted list. Confirm Togo is accepted in the site’s terms, not just in its sign-up form.
- Withdrawals. Check which methods pay out, the minimum withdrawal, any fees and the stated processing time.
- Verification. Upload your ID early. Sites ask for it before the first payout, and waiting until you’ve won adds delays.
- Bonus choice. Decide whether you want the welcome bonus at all. You can usually decline it in the cashier.
- Limits. Set a deposit limit before you place a bet.
What to watch for at offshore sites
Distant regulators. The offshore brands are licensed in Curaçao, or Anjouan for BC.Game. Their complaint processes are slow, and they can’t enforce anything in Togo. Our offshore licence guide explains more.
Clones and fake apps. Copies of popular brands spread through social media. Type the address yourself, and never install an app from a file someone forwards you.
Bonus terms. On this page, bonuses appear only as percentages and spins: amounts in our data are set for South Africa and don’t apply in Togo. 1Win’s welcome package is a 500% match spread over your first deposits in the version we track, with CFA amounts and conditions set in its cashier. The wagering requirement decides what any bonus is worth; our guide to wagering requirements shows the maths.
Keeping records
Because no Togolese authority covers offshore sites, your own records are your best evidence if something goes wrong. Take a screenshot of the bonus terms when you accept an offer, keep the reference for every T-Money, Flooz or crypto transaction, and save your chats with support. If you ever need to complain to the site’s licensing body, these are the first things it will ask for, and without them a complaint rarely gets far.
Football in Togo
Football is Togo’s sport. The domestic Championnat National has a committed following but limited betting coverage, especially at international books. Togo’s best-known footballer, Emmanuel Adebayor, spent years at top European clubs, and his era helped make the Premier League a fixture of Togolese betting slips.
Today, most bets go on European football: the Premier League, French Ligue 1, the Champions League and La Liga. These leagues have the deepest markets and the tightest margins at every bookmaker.
These leagues also have the most reliable information. Team news, line-ups and statistics for the big European competitions are everywhere, while news on Togolese domestic matches is harder to find, and bookmakers price that uncertainty in.
Combined slips are the most popular bet, and the most expensive in the long run, because each leg adds the bookmaker’s margin. Our accumulator guide explains why the real chance of a long slip winning is much lower than it looks.
Responsible gambling
We could not confirm a national gambling helpline in Togo. Use the tools on the site you choose:
- deposit limits daily, weekly or monthly;
- time-outs and self-exclusion;
- logging out after each session, especially on a shared phone.
Gamblers Anonymous runs online meetings open to anyone, and a doctor can refer you to support. Never bet money meant for food, rent or school fees. Our responsible gambling page lists the signs that betting is becoming a problem.
Neighbouring countries
Ghana licenses online casinos and betting through its Gaming Commission. Benin and Burkina Faso run betting through state lottery monopolies, like Togo.
Frequently asked questions
Is online betting legal in Togo?
Legal betting in Togo runs through LONATO (Loterie Nationale Togolaise), which holds the state monopoly on lotteries and sports betting. Offshore sites are outside that monopoly. This is general information, not legal advice.
Are online casinos allowed in Togo?
Online casinos are not regulated in Togo. There's no licence for them, so no local authority supervises casino websites or handles complaints about them.
Can I use T-Money or Flooz at betting sites?
T-Money and Flooz are Togo's two mobile money wallets and are widely used for betting. Not every offshore site offers them, and some only pay out by crypto, so check the withdrawal page first.
Does 1Win accept Togolese players?
Yes. Togo is not on 1Win's restricted list. 1Win holds a Curaçao licence and is not part of LONATO, so there's no Togolese body to turn to in a dispute.
Do Ghanaian licensed betting sites cover Togo?
No. A Gaming Commission of Ghana licence covers Ghana. A Ghanaian brand that accepts you from Togo is, from Togo's point of view, an offshore operator.
