Soccershop (ReadySteadyBet) bonus codes and how to claim

03Our review

Soccershop, now ReadySteadyBet

Soccershop started as a betting shop brand, with retail branches where punters placed football and racing bets over the counter. Online, it runs a straightforward sportsbook, and it’s in the middle of rebranding to ReadySteadyBet at readysteadybet.co.za. You’ll see both names for a while. They’re the same bookmaker.

The basics:

  • a 100% first-deposit match paid as bonus bets
  • football and horse racing as the main markets
  • in-play betting with full and partial cash-out
  • voucher deposits from R50
  • a modest set of promotions and features

It suits punters who want a no-frills local bookmaker. This review looks at the bonus in Rands, the markets, live betting, mobile, payments and the licence.

Soccershop matches your first deposit 100% up to R15,000, paid as bonus bets. The terms in our data:

  • Minimum deposit: R50
  • Rollover: 8x the bonus
  • Time limit: 7 days
  • Maximum winnings from the bonus: R10,000

What 5x in a week means

A 5x rollover is below average for South African sports bonuses. The time limit is the tighter part. On the full R7,500 bonus, you’d need to place R37,500 in bets within seven days, about R5,400 a day. That’s unrealistic for most punters.

Scale it down and it works better. A R300 deposit gives R300 in bonus bets and needs R1,500 of betting in the week, about five R300 bets, or more smaller ones. Our data doesn’t list minimum odds for qualifying bets, so check the terms for that before you start. The wagering calculator will show you the target for any deposit.

The R10,000 cap on bonus winnings is high enough that most punters will never reach it. Because the bonus is paid as bonus bets, the stake usually isn’t returned with your winnings, so a bonus bet at 2.0 returns the profit only.

Horse racing

Reviews single out horse racing as one of Soccershop’s two biggest markets, alongside football. That fits its history as a betting-shop brand. Our data covers:

  • South African racing: Turffontein, Greyville, Scottsville, Kenilworth and Fairview
  • International racing: UK, Irish, French, Australian and Hong Kong meetings

Several sources say Soccershop doesn’t stream races or matches. You’ll need to watch elsewhere or follow results on the app. If streaming matters, look at our horse racing betting sites list, where World Sports Betting and Hollywoodbets stand out.

Football and other sports

Despite the name, football isn’t the only option. Our data confirms:

  • Football: the PSL (Betway Premiership), Nedbank Cup, Carling Knockout, Bafana Bafana, AFCON, the EPL, the Champions League and La Liga
  • Rugby: the Springboks, the URC and the Currie Cup
  • Cricket: the Proteas, SA20 and the IPL
  • Other sports: tennis, golf, boxing and MMA

The football markets are the standard set: match result, double chance, both teams to score, over/under and handicaps. It’s enough for most PSL and EPL bettors. If you want deeper player and corner markets, a larger book goes further; see our PSL betting sites comparison.

There are no Lucky Numbers, esports or virtual sports in our data.

Odds

We don’t have price comparisons for Soccershop. As a smaller bookmaker, it will price the big local matches competitively and may take wider margins on less popular events. Compare a few bets with one other site before committing, and use the odds converter if you’re used to fractions.

Live betting and cash-out

This is one of Soccershop’s better features. Goal.com describes:

  • a Live In Play section on the app’s home menu
  • real-time odds on football and other sports
  • full cash-out, to settle a bet early
  • partial cash-out, to take part of the value and leave the rest running

A Zimbabwean newspaper review adds that live betting updates quickly without freezing at busy times. Cash-out prices include a margin, so using it on every bet costs you over time. It’s most useful on a long multi where most legs have already won. Compare with other bookmakers in our live betting list.

The app and mobile site

The app picture is unclear. Our data lists an iOS app, and Goal.com describes the app’s home screen. Android availability isn’t confirmed in our data, and at least one review says Soccershop has no app at all. The rebrand to ReadySteadyBet may explain the mixed reports.

The simplest route: search for ReadySteadyBet or Soccershop in your phone’s app store, and if it isn’t there, use the mobile site. It carries the full sportsbook and cashier.

Payments and withdrawals

Soccershop’s cashier is short and voucher-heavy:

The minimum deposit is R50. Vouchers suit punters who prefer cash: buy a voucher at a till, enter the PIN and you’re funded. What’s missing is instant EFT such as Ozow and card payments, which most rivals offer.

For withdrawals, expect a bank transfer after FICA. Soccershop doesn’t publish a standard payout time in our data. Upload your ID and proof of address as soon as you register.

Retail branches

Soccershop grew out of betting shops, and reviews say it still has retail branches. A shop network gives a bookmaker a physical presence that online-only brands don’t have: somewhere to place a bet in cash, watch the racing on the shop screens, or ask a question face to face.

Our data doesn’t list branch locations or whether online accounts can be funded or paid out in branch. If that matters to you, ask support before you rely on it. Don’t assume an online bonus applies to bets placed over the counter. Retail and online promotions are usually separate.

Support

Our data lists email support only. Live chat isn’t confirmed. That’s slow if a bet is settled wrongly during a match. Keep screenshots of your bet slips in case you need to raise a query.

Licence and safety

Soccershop operates as a South African bookmaker in Rands, with retail branches, but our sources don’t reliably name its licensing board. One casino-review page shows a Mpumalanga licence, which we couldn’t confirm.

Check the footer of the Soccershop or ReadySteadyBet site for the licence number and the board that issued it, then look it up on that board’s website. A local licence gives you a complaint route if a bet or withdrawal goes wrong. Our how we rate page explains how licensing affects our scores.

What the rebrand means for you

A rebrand is mostly cosmetic, but it’s worth a few checks:

  • Bookmark the right address. Use readysteadybet.co.za or soccershop.bet as typed, not links from adverts or messages. Rebrands attract copycat sites.
  • Your account should carry over. Log in with your usual details. If anything is missing, contact support by email before you deposit again.
  • Check the bonus terms again. A new brand often comes with new promotions. The welcome offer in our data was checked under the Soccershop name.

Soccershop against other racing bookmakers

If racing is why you’re looking at Soccershop, compare it with the specialists:

  • Interbet has more than 25 years of racing, tote integration and a betting exchange.
  • TAB (Tabonline) is the country’s tote operator, with the biggest pools and soccer pools too.
  • BetJets adds free racing streams and partial cash-out.

Soccershop’s advantages over them are its voucher deposits and its welcome bonus. Its disadvantages are the thin cashier and email-only support.

Who Soccershop suits

Soccershop fits punters who pay with vouchers, bet on racing and football in roughly equal measure, and want cash-out on live bets. It fits less well if you need instant EFT, live chat or a reliable app on Android.

How to join

  1. Register on soccershop.bet or readysteadybet.co.za with your SA ID, phone number and email.
  2. Upload your ID and proof of address for FICA.
  3. Deposit R50 or more by voucher or EFT to trigger the 100% bonus bets.
  4. Wager the bonus 5 times within 7 days.

Verdict

Soccershop is a simple, retail-rooted bookmaker with a fair welcome bonus, solid racing and football markets, and a good live section with full and partial cash-out.

The weaknesses add up, though:

  • the brand is mid-rebrand, and the app situation is unclear
  • the cashier has no instant EFT or cards
  • support is email only
  • no live streaming
  • the licensing board isn’t confirmed in our sources

If you like betting with vouchers and want cash-out on your multis, Soccershop is worth a look as a second account. For a first account, compare it with the bookmakers in our best betting sites list.
