How a round works
Giga Match Sugar Skull from RubyPlay takes the colourful Mexican Day of the Dead theme: painted sugar skulls, marigolds, candles and guitars. The grid has six reels and pays anywhere, so a win needs enough of one symbol anywhere on screen rather than on a line. If you’ve played Sweet Bonanza, the idea will feel familiar.
After each win the winning symbols disappear, those above drop down, and new symbols fill the gaps. The cascade continues as long as new wins form. A spin can therefore pay two, three or more times.
Features
- Pay anywhere: enough matching symbols anywhere on the grid pay.
- Cascades: winning symbols clear and refill.
- Free spins: scatters start the round; more scatters during it add extra spins.
- Free spins multiplier: a multiplier that grows during the round and applies to wins.
- Progressive jackpot: a jackpot attached to the game that can be won on top of regular play.
- Buy feature: where allowed, buy straight into free spins.
The top regular win is 18997x the stake.
RTP and volatility
The published RTP is 96.32%. Some of the return funds the jackpot, which means regular wins pay back a little less than the headline figure. Check the info screen for the version your casino runs.
Medium volatility for a pay-anywhere game is a good fit for longer sessions. Cascades give frequent small wins, and the free spins multiplier provides the bigger moments without the very long dry runs of a high-volatility game.
Honest tips
- Don’t play for the jackpot. It is a bonus on top. The chance of hitting it on any spin is tiny.
- Free spins multipliers make or break the round. A round where the multiplier climbs early can pay well; one that stays low pays little.
- Demo searches are high for this game. If your casino has fun mode, use it to see how often cascades chain.
- Buy only with money you’re happy to lose.
