Bet builder
A bet builder lets you combine several selections from the same match into one bet, such as a team to win, over 2.5 goals and a player to score. Every part must win for the bet to pay.
Building a bet
A typical bet builder for a PSL match might be:
- Orlando Pirates to win
- over 2.5 goals in the match
- over 4.5 corners
- a named player to score at any time
Each selection is a leg. The bookmaker shows one combined price for all of them. Some bookmakers call it “Create a bet”, “Same game multi” or “Bet Builder”.
Bet builder vs accumulator
An accumulator combines selections from different matches, and you can usually multiply the decimal odds to get the total. A bet builder combines selections from the same match, where outcomes affect each other, so the bookmaker sets a correlated price instead.
Things to watch
- Every leg must win. Adding legs raises the payout and lowers your chance, quickly.
- Voids: if a named player doesn’t start, that leg may be voided, or the whole bet may be, depending on the rules (see void bet).
- Bonus rules: free bets and bonus wagering often exclude bet builders or apply minimum odds.
Bet builders are fun for small stakes. Treat a big potential return as a long shot, not a plan.
Frequently asked questions
How does a bet builder work?
You choose markets from one match, such as result, goals, cards or player bets, and the bookmaker prices them together as a single bet. If any part loses, the whole bet loses.
Why are bet builder odds lower than multiplying the legs?
Selections in the same match are often linked. If a team wins comfortably, over 2.5 goals is more likely too. Bookmakers adjust the price for that connection, and they add their margin.
Can I cash out a bet builder?
Many bookmakers allow cash-out on bet builders, but not all, and the offer depends on the markets. Check before you place the bet.
