Both teams to score
Both teams to score, or BTTS, is a soccer bet on whether each team scores at least one goal in the match. "Yes" wins with any score like 1-1 or 3-2; "No" wins if either side fails to score.

How BTTS works
The market has two options:
- Yes: wins on 1-1, 2-1, 3-2 and any result where both teams score.
- No: wins on 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 and any result where one team doesn’t score.
The winner of the match doesn’t matter, only whether both teams find the net. That makes BTTS popular for matches between two attacking sides, or where both defences are weak.
Related markets
- BTTS and over 2.5 goals: both teams score and at least three goals in total.
- BTTS in both halves: each team scores in the first half and the second half. Rarely wins, so it pays well.
- BTTS first half: settled on the half-time score.
BTTS sits alongside over/under as one of the most popular goal markets. It’s often used as a leg in an accumulator or a bet builder, but remember each extra leg lowers your chance of winning. Many South African bookmakers offer BTTS on PSL matches; compare them on our PSL betting list.
Frequently asked questions
What does BTTS mean in betting?
BTTS stands for both teams to score. You bet Yes if you expect both sides to score at least once, or No if you think at least one will keep a clean sheet.
Does extra time count for BTTS?
Usually not. Most bookmakers settle BTTS on the score after 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalties are excluded unless the market says otherwise.
What is BTTS and win?
A combined market where both teams must score and your chosen team must also win, for example 2-1 or 3-1. It pays more than either bet on its own because both must happen.
