What Le Bandit is
Le Bandit is a 2023 slot from Hacksaw Gaming and the first of its “Le” series, which turned into one of the studio’s most successful franchises. The star is Smokey, a raccoon in a beret and stripes who’s robbing the streets of Paris. The look is cartoonish; the mechanics are clever.
How a round works
The game uses a six-reel grid with cluster pays. You win when a group of matching symbols touch each other horizontally or vertically. After a win, the cluster disappears and new symbols drop in (cascades), so wins can chain.
The key twist is what a win leaves behind. Every position that was part of a winning cluster becomes a golden square, marked on the grid for the rest of that spin’s cascade sequence.
Rainbows, coins and clovers
- Rainbow symbol: when it lands, every golden square on the grid reveals a prize.
- Coins: cash values, from small amounts to large multiples of your stake.
- Clovers: multipliers that boost the coins next to them.
- Pots of gold (cash collector): special symbols that can collect coin values.
So a spin with lots of cascades creates lots of golden squares, and a rainbow on that spin can pay out many coins at once. Hacksaw also adds symbol swaps and reskins on some symbols to change the grid.
Bonus modes
Scatters trigger bonus rounds where golden squares become sticky for the whole feature rather than resetting each spin, so value builds up over the round. Higher bonus tiers start stronger. A bonus buy is available where casinos allow it.
The maximum listed win is 10000 times your stake.
RTP and volatility in plain words
The RTP is 96.34%, a little above average. Hacksaw offers casinos several RTP versions, so check the game info at yours.
Volatility is listed as medium. You’ll see fairly regular cascades and rainbows, with occasional larger hits when many golden squares and clovers line up. The bonus rounds carry the biggest potential.
Honest tips
- Watch for rainbows, but don’t wait for them. A grid full of golden squares without a rainbow pays nothing extra, and the next spin starts clean.
- Bonus buys come in tiers. Higher tiers cost more. Try them in the demo before spending real money.
- Medium volatility still has losing runs. Keep stakes small enough to ride them out.
- Set your limits first.
Who it suits
Le Bandit suits players who like visible build-up: you can see the golden squares spread and know something might happen. If you enjoy it, other cluster games with free demos here include Gates of Pyroth and Sweet Bonanza. For more Hacksaw-style edge, try Nolimit City’s Mental 2, which is far more volatile.
