Jin Ji Bao Xi Endless Treasure Megaways slot demo

What this game is

Jin Ji Bao Xi is one of Light & Wonder’s best-known Asian-themed slot series. The name roughly means “golden rooster brings good fortune”, and the games are full of lucky symbols: roosters, gold ingots, lanterns and coins. The series started on land-based cabinets, especially in Asia and Australia, and then moved online.

Endless Treasure is one of the series’ online titles, and the Megaways edition builds on it. Listings don’t always agree on the exact names, so you may see this game as Jin Ji Bao Xi Megaways or Jin Ji Bao Xi: Endless Treasure Megaways in a casino lobby.

How a round works

The Megaways version uses six reels whose heights change on every spin. The number of ways to win is the number of symbols on each reel multiplied together, up to 117,649 on Light & Wonder’s listing. Matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left pay, in any position.

Wins are frequent because there are so many ways, but many of them are small relative to your stake.

Choose your free spins

The headline feature, according to Light & Wonder’s launch announcement, is a choice of six different free spins bonuses that differ in volatility. Some give more spins with smaller boosts; others give fewer spins with bigger ones. That means you choose how risky your bonus round is.

Light & Wonder lists a top prize for the Megaways version in its own game pages, but listings vary by market, so we haven’t added a maximum win to the game facts.

RTP and volatility

Light & Wonder’s own listings for Jin Ji Bao Xi Megaways show slightly different RTPs in different markets, and third-party sites list other figures for the non-Megaways Endless Treasure. Because we couldn’t confirm which version South African-facing casinos run, we haven’t put an RTP in the game facts. Check the info screen in the game.

Volatility depends on the free spins option you pick. The base game is closer to medium.

Honest tips

• Pick your bonus deliberately. A lower-volatility option suits a small budget; a high one suits players chasing a big round. Neither changes the long-run return.
• Check the RTP in-game, since sources disagree.
• Ways aren’t wins. A spin with tens of thousands of ways still pays only for matching symbols.
• Set a budget before you start.

Why land-based series move online

Players who know a game from a casino floor often look for it online. That familiarity is a big reason studios release online versions of hits like Jin Ji Bao Xi. Online versions can differ from the cabinet: RTP, features and bet ranges may not be the same, so don’t assume the machine you remember is identical.

Where to play it for real

We haven’t confirmed which South African brands carry Light & Wonder. 1Win, featured on this site, offers 500% up to R75,000 over 4 deposits and has a large Asian-themed slot selection; it’s licensed offshore.

If you like Asian themes with a free demo, try Habanero’s Koi Koi Treasure or Pragmatic’s 5 Lions Megaways 2, which also has a free spins choice. Both studios are at Hollywoodbets. See also our slots with free demos.
