What Wolf Gold is

Wolf Gold is a 2017 slot from Pragmatic Play and one of the studio’s longest-running hits. The setting is the American desert at night: wolves, eagles, buffalo, horses and a full moon. It has stayed popular because it’s easy to follow, it has a clear feature to aim for, and its swings are moderate compared with Pragmatic’s newer games.

How a round works

Wolf Gold has five reels and 25 fixed lines. Wins pay left to right for three or more matching symbols. The wild (a rocky landscape) substitutes for regular symbols on the middle reels.

In the base game, stacked symbols can line up across the middle reels to pay several lines at once.

The Money Respin

This is the feature everyone plays Wolf Gold for. Land six or more moon symbols and the Money Respin starts:

• Each moon locks in place with a cash value or a jackpot label.
• You get three respins. Every new moon locks and resets the count to three.
• When the respins run out, all values are paid.
• Fill all 15 positions and you win the top Mega jackpot.

There are three fixed jackpots: Mini, Major and Mega, each a fixed multiple of your stake.

Free spins with giant symbols

Three scatters trigger free spins. During the round, giant 3x3 symbols can land on the middle three reels, which makes big line wins much more likely. More scatters retrigger the feature.

The maximum listed win is 2500 times your stake, from the Money Respin with the Mega jackpot.

RTP and volatility in plain words

The RTP is 96.01%, right around the average. Pragmatic offers some casinos lower versions, so check the game info.

Volatility is medium. You’ll see regular wins, a Money Respin that triggers often enough to keep things interesting, and a top win that’s reachable rather than theoretical. That’s why it’s often recommended to players who are new to online slots.

Honest tips

• Six moons is the threshold. Five moons on screen doesn’t mean the respin is near; each spin is independent.
• Good for using free spins offers. Medium volatility means sign-up spins tend to produce steadier, smaller winnings.
• Mind max-bet rules when wagering a bonus. Many offers limit your stake while wagering. Check before you raise it.
• Set a limit and stick to it.

Why Wolf Gold has lasted

Most slots fade within a year or two. Wolf Gold has stayed in South African lobbies for close to a decade because its design is easy to trust: you can see the moons, you know six triggers the feature, and the jackpots are fixed amounts printed in the paytable rather than mystery pools. It also sits in the middle of the volatility range, so it doesn’t punish small budgets as hard as Pragmatic’s newer multiplier games.

That longevity is also why it appears so often in free spins offers. If a casino gives you sign-up spins on a named Pragmatic game, there’s a good chance Wolf Gold or a Big Bass title is on the list.
