How a round works
Wanted Dead or a Wild from Hacksaw Gaming came out in 2021 and became the studio’s best-known game. It plays on five reels and five rows, with 15 fixed lines. The symbols are a gang of outlaws, a sheriff, revolvers and playing cards, drawn in a gritty comic-book style.
Most spins are plain line spins. What changes the game is the VS symbol, which can land on reels 2, 3 and 4. When it does, it expands to cover the whole reel and two characters face off in a duel. The duel reveals a multiplier, and the reel becomes a wild with that multiplier. If several VS reels join one line win, their multipliers combine.
Features
- VS duel wilds: expanding wild reels with multipliers revealed by a duel.
- Great Train Robbery: free spins with sticky wilds carrying multipliers.
- Duel at Dawn: free spins where every VS symbol that lands stays for the rest of the round.
- Dead Man’s Hand: a combined bonus with features from both.
- Bonus buy: where permitted, buy any of the bonuses at different prices.
The top win is 12500x the stake, one of the highest caps on this site.
RTP and volatility
The RTP in our data is 94.55%. Hacksaw Gaming supplies several versions, and some casinos run a higher default, so check the info screen at your casino.
This is a very high-volatility game. The maximum is far above what almost anyone will see. A realistic session: long stretches of small line wins, an occasional VS reel worth a few times your stake, and, rarely, a bonus with several sticky multipliers.
Honest tips
- The headline maximum is a ceiling, not an expectation. Plan for the typical result, not the record.
- Stake small. With variance this high, 0.5–1% of your balance per spin gives you a chance to see a bonus.
- Buying bonuses is expensive and swingy. Different buys cost different amounts; all return less than their price on average.
- Check the RTP version. The gap between versions is large enough to matter over a session.
