IGT games
IGT (International Game Technology) is one of the world's biggest slot machine makers, with roots going back to 1975. Its online slots are digital versions of casino-floor classics like Golden Goddess and Cleopatra, but IGT runs no public demo server, so its free demos are rare.

Who IGT is
International Game Technology grew out of a Nevada slot business in the 1970s. It became one of the companies that defined the modern casino floor, with Wheel of Fortune, Cleopatra and Double Diamond among its machines. In 2015 it merged with the Italian lottery group GTECH. In 2025 its gaming and digital business was sold to Apollo Global Management and combined with Everi under the IGT name, with its main base in Las Vegas.
IGT’s online slots are mostly adaptations of its land-based hits. They’re licensed in the UK and many other regulated markets.
What IGT games are known for
- Land-based classics. The same themes and maths you’d find on a casino floor in Las Vegas or at a South African casino resort.
- Simple bonus rounds. Free spins with multipliers, stacked symbols and picking bonuses, rather than cascades or bonus buys.
- Medium volatility. Most IGT slots aim for a steady rhythm.
- Below-average RTPs on some titles. Land-based adaptations often sit around 94% to 96%, a little lower than many online-first studios.
Best IGT games
- Golden Goddess: a 40-line Greek-goddess slot with “super stacks” and free spins, and one of IGT’s most played online games. Its RTP is 94.75%, so over the long run it costs about R5 for every R100 staked.
- Mystery of the Lamp Treasure Oasis: a newer Arabian Nights slot with an RTP of 96.22%.
Where South Africans can play IGT
IGT’s online games appear at some international casinos and through aggregators, but they’re less common at South African-facing sites than the big online-first studios. We haven’t confirmed a South African provincially licensed online casino that lists IGT, so check the lobby before you deposit. 1Win is open to South Africans, has a very large slot library and offers 500% up to R75,000 over 4 deposits; it is licensed in Curaçao, so there is no provincial dispute route.
You can still play IGT’s land-based machines legally at licensed South African casino resorts. Online, check the game info screen: some casinos run IGT titles at a lower RTP setting than the maximum.
IGT and progressive jackpots
IGT’s land-based Wheel of Fortune and MegaJackpots machines are famous for big linked prizes. Online, some IGT games link to progressive jackpots too, but the odds of a hit are tiny. Play them for the base game.
