Arcadem games

Who Arcadem is

Arcadem is a young slot studio based in Malta. It describes its slots as narrative games with recognisable characters and original stories, and it launched with distribution deals through the Oryx and iSoftBet aggregation platforms. It is small compared with the studios that dominate South African lobbies, and its catalogue is short, so you’ll mostly meet it in the “new providers” row of larger international casinos.

We don’t have a confirmed licence for Arcadem in our data. Small studios often supply games through an aggregator’s licence, which is common and doesn’t by itself make a game less fair. The RNG is tested at the supplier level, and the casino’s own licence governs how you are treated.

What Arcadem games are known for

• Characters and story. Rather than fruits or ancient Egypt, Arcadem builds its slots around heroes and comic-style art.
• Retro arcade styling. The name gives it away: bright pixel and 1980s influences.
• Ways-to-win layouts. Its best-known game uses 243 ways rather than fixed paylines, so wins pay on adjacent reels from the left.
• Medium volatility. Its games aim for a steady rhythm rather than very rare monster wins.

Best Arcadem games

Flashback Heroes is the title that put Arcadem on the map. It’s a 5-reel, 243-ways slot with an RTP of 95% and a top win of 10000x your stake. That RTP is on the low side, so over the long run you’d expect to lose about R5 of every R100 staked. Treat it as entertainment with a known cost.

A note on searches: many South Africans search “flashback casino” or “flashback za casino”. Those searches are usually for unrelated sites, not this slot. If a site uses the name, check its licence before you register.

Where South Africans can play Arcadem games

Arcadem’s games appear mostly at offshore casinos that take large aggregator feeds. South African provincially licensed casinos focus on Pragmatic Play, Habanero and a handful of other big studios. 1Win has a large slot library open to South Africans and offers 500% up to R75,000 over 4 deposits; it is licensed in Curaçao, so there’s no provincial dispute route.

If you play a low-RTP slot with a bonus, the wagering costs more. Work it out in Rands with our wagering calculator before you accept an offer.

Small studio, short catalogue
