Macabra Linx PowerPlay Jackpot slot demo

What Macabra Linx PowerPlay Jackpot is

Macabra Linx is a slot from Rarestone Gaming, one of Playtech’s in-house studios. The theme is Mexico’s Day of the Dead: painted skulls, marigolds, candles and colourful skeleton figures. The PowerPlay Jackpot version adds Playtech’s jackpot system on top of the base game.

If you’ve seen it in the Playtech section of a South African lobby, it’s most likely at Hollywoodbets, which lists Playtech among its providers.

How a round works

The base Macabra Linx game is a compact video slot. Wins pay for matching symbols across its lines, and wilds help complete them. The “Linx” in the name refers to its linked-symbols feature: special symbols that link together, lock and collect values during a respin-style bonus, a cousin of the hold-and-win format.

The PowerPlay Jackpot layer

PowerPlay is Playtech’s jackpot add-on for selected slots. In general terms:

• A small part of each stake goes towards jackpot prizes.
• Jackpots can be triggered on any spin, independently of the base game’s features.
• Larger stakes may increase your chance of triggering a jackpot, depending on the game’s rules.

The paytable and jackpot rules inside the game explain exactly how the jackpot works at your casino, including whether your stake affects your chances. Read them before you change your bet.

RTP and volatility

We couldn’t confirm a published RTP for the PowerPlay Jackpot version. SlotCatalog lists the standard Macabra LinX separately, and jackpot versions normally have a different RTP because some of the return is set aside for the jackpot pool. Check the info screen in the game.

We also don’t have a confirmed volatility rating. Jackpot games tend to feel more volatile than their standard versions, because a share of the return comes from very rare jackpot wins.

Honest tips

• Find the RTP in the game first. If both a jackpot and a standard version are available, compare them.
• Don’t raise your stake just for the jackpot. Even if a higher stake improves your chance, it also raises your cost per spin.
• Jackpots are rare by design. Treat any jackpot as a surprise, not a goal.
• Set your limits before you play.

Jackpot slots in context

Jackpot slots are popular because they promise a life-changing prize. The trade-off is that the base game usually pays back a little less to fund that prize. If you’d rather have a better base return, choose a standard slot with a high RTP. If you enjoy the chance of a jackpot, choose a budget you’re comfortable spending for that chance.

About Rarestone Gaming

Rarestone is one of several studios inside Playtech’s group. Its games tend to use bold, illustrated themes and collect-style features, and many of them come in more than one version: a standard release and versions linked to Playtech’s jackpot networks. That’s why you may find more than one Macabra Linx in a lobby. Check the name and the jackpot badge to see which one you’re opening.
