King Koko’s Quest is one of the stand-out games in Pariplay and Wizard Games’ portfolio for two reasons. Firstly, this King Kong-esque slot arguably has some of the finest imagery in that collection. Secondly, it has more of an original reel structure and gaming mechanics than many of its sister slots in the library. That shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that with so many Kong-like slots out there on the market, Pariplay/Wizard Games have had to do something clever and inventive to help this title stand out.

Don’t let the grandiose reel structure fool you or put you off having a crack at this slot release. There is an abundance of special features. To begin with, there are two special symbols in the game. The first of these is the gorilla, and the second is the crown emblem. It counts as a scatter.

Note King Koko, who sits beside the reels. At any point, he may randomly appear on the reels, adding Waking Wilds into the mix. Once Walking Wilds appear, they will continue to make their way up the reels over subsequent spins, yielding semi-decent results most of the time. In a sense, these aren’t true “Walking Wilds” because if they were, they’d walk across the reels and not up them.

If King Koko makes an appearance under a Walking Wild, he can smash neighbouring symbols into wilds. These act as conventional substitute symbols for that spin alone and will disappear at the end of it.

King Koko’s Quest is a mixed bag when it comes to fun and gameplay. It looks good and has ample features, but the results will be mixed. The prizes are considerably small, the wilds work in largely the same way, and there isn’t enough originality in the free spin round to excite.
