Located in San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz spent a portion of its existence as a prison until it was closed down in 1963. The design of Hellcatraz is unusual for a few reasons, the first of which is its nostalgic 8-bit graphics and Space Invader-like arcade-style sounds dating back to the ’80s.
The background artwork presents Alcatraz with a view of the San Francisco harbour in the background. The symbols include a prison guard, a mob boss, a gold-toothed shark, prison guard badge and handcuffs.
