Don’t Lose Your Head in Agent of Hearts Slot Game from Play’n Go

There are no prizes for guessing the theme behind Play‘n Go’s Agent of Hearts slot game. Heavily inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Mad Hatter (with elements of the Queen of Hearts), this Alice in Wonderland-esque slot offers to take players on a different journey through the slot world, albeit with a familiar enough theme.

While casino players won’t be entirely unfamiliar with the types of symbols and characters (the Cheshire Cat, anyone?) appearing on the reels of this slot, the gaming engine, mechanics, and volatility may offer something different to anyone sick of playing a repeat of nickel-and-dime video slots. If you’re eager to learn what Agent of Hearts brings to the table, jump down the infamous rabbit hole with us as we explore this Play‘n Go developed slot in our review.
We’ve seen it all before, though, not quite like this
As touched on, there isn’t much out of the ordinary with the theme of the game. However, Play‘n Go has decided to leave Alice aside and focus more on some other characters. Yes, the Mad Hatter is central to the action, but you’ll also note that the aforementioned Cheshire Cat, alongside the Caterpillar and Dormouse, have roles to play. Given they sit to the left of the reels while a giant heart sits towards the top, they are unmissable.

Agent of Hearts is unconventional in its approach to paylines. There are seven reels, upon which sits a Cluster Pays engine. This 7-7-5-5-5-7-7 setup only happen because the Queen of Hearts “heart” encroaches on the reels at the top. Like most Play ‘n Go slots, Agent of Hearts is highly volatile, but stakes are affordable. They range from 0.20 up to 100.00 a spin, while the RTP (in most cases) hovers around 96.25%. Prizes may be non-progressive, but they can reach upwards of 5,262x your stake.
Random Hearts & Agent Features
As a Cluster Pays slot, you can rest assured that the cascading reels mechanic is in play here. In short, any win you acquire will see winning icons removed, and new ones replace them on the seven reels of the game. Keep bagging winning combos, and this will continue happening.
Wild symbols can appear as “W” symbols, and they come in handy when you want to try and pocket fifteen-symbol plus combos. Agent of Hearts has a randomly triggered modifier in play, too. Known as the Random Hearts bonus, it can see between four and seven wild symbols pop up randomly on the reels. Wilds can replace all, save for key emblems.
Whenever an agent (the main characters) appear in winning, cascading combos, they will be collected. Once six of one particular character have been accumulated, a bonus unique to that character kicks into gear. Another way for this to happen is to hope that a randomly triggered White Rabbit may come along and do it for you. That cannot be relied upon, though.
Unique Character Bonus Features
- Caterpillar: The Smokin’ Phat round sees the caterpillar blow between one and three smoke clouds diagonally on the reels. Symbols that are affected will then be removed or turned into alternative icons.
- Cheshire Cat: The cheeky Cheshire Cat will appear on the screen and give us a big grin. Any affected symbols are then removed or turn into other symbols, as with the previous round.
- Dormouse: The Cupcake Splat round sees the dormouse run across the reels, leaving behind a cupcake trail in his wake. This will explode, destroyed many symbols and turning them into other symbols at random.
- Mad Hatter: The Mat Had bonus sees six to nine random hats appear on the reels before turning themselves into a symbol at random

Agent of Hearts Fab Free Spin Round
Agent of Hearts also has a free spin bonus round, where the famous Queen of Hearts comes into play. Collecting her key symbols (scatters) on the reels during a single spin will activate the feature. Oddly enough, when Play‘n Go say “free spin”, they mean it. You’ll get just one.
While you only get one bite at the cherry, Agent of Heart’s four agent modifiers will all be used during that spin. Moreover, a mega wild symbol (3×2 in size) can appear, giving you added chances of landing epic wins. In fact, we’d argue that the free spin bonus is your best shot of landing the top prize.
Agent of Hearts – Our Verdict
Agent of Hearts takes a familiar (and, dare we say, overused) theme and breathes new life into it. While the cascading reels system is commonplace now, and the modifiers do tend to do essentially the same thing, there is still much excitement to be had in this release, making Agent of Hearts well worth a look for fans of highly volatile Play‘n Go slots.
